
Introduction to Climbing
The 'Introduction to Climbing' course is a 90 minute session running through all the basic skills required in a climbing wall. It is an essential course if you would like to climb in one of our public sessions but have little or no experience. You will be shown how to put on a harness correctly, how to tie in and how to belay a climber. Then you'll practice these techniques with a few climbs. The 'Introduction to Leading - fixed' course is for confident top ropers wanting to learn how to lead on an indoor climbing wall. The 90 minute course runs through all the basics of leading, including rope management, using fixed protection and belaying for a lead climber. All equipment and instruction is included in the cost. Introduction to Leading - natural protection
The 'Introduction to Leading - natural protection' course is for confident fixed gear lead climbers that would like to know the basic techniques required to lead outdoors. The course covers mainly gear placement and setting up a top rope system. This only covers the basic techniques in the warmth of a climbing wall. It is recommended that you seek further instruction before using the techniques learned in the outdoors. All equipment and instruction is included in the cost.
